Roger L. Mabin, 74 of Yorkville, passed away Friday January 13, 2023 at Rush Copley Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 27, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan; son of George, Pharma.D. and Edith (Percy) Mabin. Roger was employed as a Computer Analyst for The Ford Motor Company for over 30 years. Roger holds a B.S. degree in chemistry. He was Head Deacon and taught Bible School at God’s House of Prayer in Detroit, Michigan. After moving to Illinois, he took classes at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. In 2014, Roger started attending Calvary Church of Naperville, where his wife Estella began attending in 2009. Roger enjoyed science, word puzzles (especially Soduko), watching Jeopardy and UFO movies. He never served in the Military but Roger was a true patriot, and expressed his allegiance to his country by proudly showcasing the American flag on his home throughout the seasons; but most of all, he truly loved spending time with family and friends. Roger is survived by his wife of 8 years Estella, his mother Edith Woodberry, his 7 children; Atira(Eric) Jackson, Michael (Nina) Mabin, Jewel (Earle) Lloyd, Mark Hunt, Janelle Hunt, Jenita Hunt and Markita (Derrick) Hicks. 15 grandchildren, 12 siblings and a host of many other nieces, nephews and other relatives. Roger was preceded in death by his father, step-father, George Woodberry and his brother Lamont. Family will be receiving guests on Monday January 23, 2023 from 12pm until time of service at 1pm at Dieterle Memorial Home 1120 S. Broadway in Montgomery.
