Marjorie Brennan

Marjorie Brennan (Scott) went to be with the Lord on January 12, 2023 at the age of 95. 

Marjorie was born March 15, 1927 in Pontiac, Illinois to John and Mabel Scott. She was the last of eleven children all of whom have since passed. She leaves behind her three children, Terrance P Brennan (Montgomery, IL), Suzanne R. Fitzsimons (Pingree Grove, IL), Lori J (Stephen) Rose (Manitowoc, WI); along with four grandchildren, Andrew (Bridget) Fitzsimons of Crystal Lake, IL, Stefanie Fitzsimons of McHenry, IL, P Henry (Julianne) Rose of Cordova, TN, Melanie L. Congleton of Kiel, WI; and three great grandchildren, Aaron, Rhys, and Austin Fitzsimons of Crystal Lake. IL.

Marjorie met the love of her life, Patrick C Brennan, when she left Pontiac, to train as a nurse in Chicago. They made their life in Chicago and then moved to Aurora. Marjorie and Pat were very active members of the Fourth Street Methodist Church. She was involved as a Sunday school teacher, Den Mother for Cub Scouts, Girl Scout leader, and a member of the Macabeans group.   

While in Aurora she worked for various places but retired from Henry Pratt Co. when she was 63, with 21 years of work.

An annual trip to Wisconsin’s Gilbert Lake in Wild Rose, was always a family time together swimming and fishing. The yearly family Scott Reunion was always one of the highlights of the year for her, where we traveled to Pontiac and had a picnic with all the family and their siblings at the Chautauqua Park, Pontiac. This event had all the brothers and sisters along with their children coming together to celebrate family. Marge last attended the still going reunion in July of 2022 now meeting in Greymont, IL.  

Marge took her job of being the last of the Scott siblings seriously and tried to keep connections with many of her nephews and nieces, calling them regularly and writing to them. This last year with declining health she began to slip in keeping in touch but still enjoyed hearing from them all.

Family will be receiving guests on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave, Montgomery, IL 60538. Funeral service will take place Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 11:00AM also at Dieterle Memorial Home. Interment at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
