Marguerite "Mollie" Millen

Marguerite “Mollie” Millen , 81, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Jennings Terrace in Aurora. She was born August 13, 1941 in Aurora; daughter of Elmer and Irene (Stull) Millen. Mollie worked for the Zoning and Planning department of Kane County, holding several key positions throughout her 30 plus year career.  She was a very special aunt and she was deeply loved by and involved with her family,, especially her nieces and nephews. She was also extensively involved in many volunteer activities making a difference for the people in our community behind the scenes and in front – including Friends of Phillips Park, Community Contacts, Jennings Terrace Board of Directors, Kane County Forest Preserve – prairie conservation efforts, many ministries at St, Thomas church (Annual Art show/ Gardening program, etc) and so many more!!! Mollie enjoyed outdoor activities such as Golf (including a hole-in-one), birdwatching, dog walking, and even tried cross- country skiing one year!! She especially loved the movies, plays, operas, symphonies as well as traveling domestically and abroad (Greece, Egypt, Italy, Spain). She enjoyed most of all spending time with her family and was always including members of her family to join her to enjoy being together and these special experiences. She is survived by her sister Alice Besch (the late Norman), many nieces and nephews, many great and great great nieces and nephews and other cousins and relatives. Mollie is preceded in death by her parents and sister Mona Renee Popp (the late Victor) and her niece, Claudia (Besch) Nelson.  Family will be receiving guests Friday November 18, 2022 from 4 pm until time of service at 7pm at Dieterle Memorial Home 1120 S.
