Johnnie "Buck" Hood

 Johnnie “Buck” Hood, 74, passed away Saturday September 18, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 24, 1947 in New Albany, Mississippi, son of Arnie Dowdy and Rosa Hood. “Buck” was a roofer for over 30 years and was employed by several companies during that time.  He enjoyed taking walks on the beach, fishing, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. “Buck” is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cathy, a daughter, Bridget (Barry) Worby, 2 grandchildren, Riley and Nathan, a sister, Geneva (Norman) Steuck and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a son, David Gilliam. Family will be receiving guests Wednesday September 22, 2021 from 3pm to 7 pm at Dieterle Memorial Home 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery, IL. Funeral Services will be Thursday September 23, 2021 at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora.
