Jeffrey Hawkins

Jeffrey Hawkins, 66, of Oswego, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 02, 2021. He was born on May 21, 1955 in Hinsdale, IL, Jeff was a devoted husband, loving father and doting Papa and a man of faith. Jeff was a teddy bear of a man that was one of the hardest working individuals you’ll ever meet, honest as the day is long, and always there with a hug, shoulder to lean on and help if you needed it. He spent 35 plus years in local union 265 as a journeyman , then superintendent and finally owner of Belle Engineering before retiring in order to fully pursue his passions that included Harleys, boats, swimming pools and travel, but, first and foremost, Jeff was a family man. He and his wife Susan would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this year in October. He was an unbelievably loving husband who adored his wife beyond measure. He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter Kelly who succumbed to cancer 6 years ago despite the fact Jeff and Sue were by her side every day and night of the fight. He leaves behind two sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher (Tanya) Hawkins and Patrick (Meg) Hawkins, along with his son-in-law Scott Frantz all of who he loved and cherished deeply. While he was proud of all of their individual accomplishments, he was especially proud of all of their love, dedication and commitment to raising all of their children--his beloved grandkids--with the Hawkins family legacy, specifically the fact that family always comes first. As proud as Jeff was of everything he accomplished throughout his many stations, positions and titles in life, his most loved accolade was, by far, that of Papa to his grandchildren Kayla, Madison, Ethan, Jared and Isaac. They were his light, and he was happily their source of unconditional love, pride, friendship and guidance. He is proceed in death by his parents Gertrude and Jack Hawkins. Family will be receiving guests on Monday, June 7, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave, Montgomery, IL 60538. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with interment following at Risen Lord Catholic Cemetery, Oswego, IL.
