Tribute

Brett J. Suter, “#SuTrain” 20, a lifelong resident of Oswego, IL passed away on January 13, 2022. He was born in Naperville, IL on December 10, 2001 the son of Brian and Tracie (Kennedy) Suter. Growing up, Brett attended Oswego schools and was a 2020 graduate of Oswego High School. From the young age of 6, Brett played football through OYTF, his passion for football would carry him through to high school and eventually on to North Park University. The brotherhood and the bond that he experienced while playing high school football was like no other. He attributed much of his love for the sport to the outstanding coaches that he had. His coaches taught him lessons that would shape him to the man he became. He was proud, dependable, motivated, supportive, committed and competitive. These characteristics, matched with his loving, caring and compassionate spirit were what made Brett so special. He was someone you could count on for anything (except the dishes), a friend to all, a shoulder to lean on and simply put, a “gentle giant.” Aside from football he played Rugby with the Chiefs Rugby Club and was able to fulfill a dream of traveling to England during that time. Brett was a wonderful son and an adored brother who was looked up to by his siblings. His infectious personality, his terrible dance moves, and his kindred spirit will forever be remembered and deeply missed.

He is survived by his beloved parents; Tracie (Eric Samp) Suter, and Brian Suter; siblings, Chloe and Brice Suter, maternal grandparents, Kathy Tierney and Dan (Carol) Kennedy, Aunts Michelle (Russ) Paluch, Amy (Jace) Johnson Christy (Paul) Zielske, Katie (Daniel) Pasholk, and Melissa (Randy) Fetting; uncles, Greg Suter and Aj (Babs) Suter; cousins Benjamin and Margo Paluch, Jhet and Atley Johnson, Amanda and Ryan Zielske, Peter and Kendra Pasholk, Brenna Fetting and Krystina and Kyle Suter.
