Ava and Mia Luna

Ava Faith Luna, 10 months old passed away surrounded by her family and twin sister on May 10, 2022. 

Mia Grace Luna, 10 months old was reunited with her twin sister on May 15, 2022. They were born on July 7, 2021 in Aurora, IL, the daughters of Anthony and Brittany Luna. 

Ava and Mia, our sweet sweet girls were fighters from the very beginning.. From Ava’s NICU journey to hers and her sisters journey through all the challenges they endured with their rare genetic disorder. Although their life was cut short, 2 months before their first birthday, they filled our hearts with a lot of joy and laughter. Ava was a little girl who was shy but very playful. She loved to smile, play with her tongue, cuddle with her blanket while covering her face during sleep and babble all day long. Whereas Mia, was our smart little girl who always knew what was about to happen. She loved to stare and observe and then crack a smile if she approved of what you were about to do with/to her. And although she loved messing with her sister Ava, they always wanted to be right next to each other 24/7. One thing we all know for sure is that these girls both fought through their last days, waiting for all their family to see them one last time. Our little Mito warriors indeed. 

Ava and Mia, we miss you both so so much. You will forever leave an imprint on our hearts and our love for you will never wander. Until we meet again, our sweet sweet angels. 

They are survived by their parents Anthony and Brittany Luna, brother Noah; maternal grandparents, Jacki and Ferdie Lim and Archie Corpuz; paternal grandparents, Teresa and Todd DeVoss; great-grandparents, Gina and Amador Ibardaloza, Sr., and Lucy Terronez and Helene Smith; aunts, Melissa Ibardaloza and Erin DeVoss; uncles, Joshua and Jacob Lim and Todd DeVoss, Jr. and cousins, Marcus, Masen and Bella.

Family will be receiving guests on Monday, May 16, 2022 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in their honor to the family for a memorial that will be established.
